Order your own unique papercut
I make most of my papercuts to order, and I'd be happy to do the same for you. Please send me an email at hi@marinapapercuts.nl or using a message form below.
Some details about commissioning an artwork
-
The exact price would be determined after we agree on the illustration concept since the price would be based on a number of details and the size of the papercut.
The more detailed the artwork – the more time it would take to create, and so the higher the price.
On average, you may expect the prices to be the following:
A5 illustration – 150 EUR
A4 illustration – 210 EUR
We will agree on the price before I start the sketching process.
You’ll receive payment requests only after you agree on the sketch so that you are 100% sure about the papercut direction.
I also provide illustration tracing for an additional fee of 45 EUR. You will receive a vector file with your illustration.
-
The price includes shipment. I am shipping my papercuts with PostNL, a Dutch national post provider. My default shipment option does not include tracking. If you’d like to add
Track and Trace – please let me know. PostNL provides mail tracking for about 10 EUR (depending on the destination).
-
I always start with a sketch. As of today, I don’t have any limits for the number of iterations. I start papercut work after the sketch is approved and I received the payment.
Typically I reserve 2 weeks for papercut work. I will keep you updated on the papercut process (with photos or videos).
If you have a hard deadline – please communicate it asap.
-
Usually, the process would go like this:
Step 1
You’d contact me about your commission request. Ideally with some reference photos and/or ideas of what you’d like to see on your illustration.
We’ll talk about the level of detail, style direction, size of the papercut, and any elements that should be present on the papercut.
We’ll agree on payment and timeline.
Step 2
I’ll make a few sketches, so we can agree on the right direction
Usually, we’ll need 1-2 sketch iterations to come up with a final draft.
When we agree on the sketch – I’ll send you a payment link.
After payment is done – I will start with papercutting.
Step 3
Usually, I reserve 2 weeks for papercutting. The exact time would depend on the level of detail. Smaller and simpler illustrations (e.g. A5 pet portrait) may take less than a week, while more complex (e.g. A4 wedding illustration) might take full 2 weeks of work.
I will keep you updated on the progress (with videos and/or photos).
Step 4
After everything is ready – I’ll pack it and ship it to your address. I’ll communicate this to you upfront, so you know when to expect the envelope!
If you have any other questions - regarding style, format, process, or anything else - please send me a message via email, and I’ll answer as soon as I can.
How artworks are made
I like to document my commission work progress. Here is an example of the commission artwork process I did as a wedding gift for a newly married couple.
